Rio Dell CERT

Welcome to the home of Rio Dell, CA CERT. We are volunteers who are prepared to assist our neighbors in the event of a disaster or emergency. Under control of the Rio Dell Fire Protection District, we can be deployed to take load off of our first responders so that they can be more effective when we need them most, providing assistance to vulnerable members of our community.

The FEMA CERT program provides education and training for disaster worker volunteers in your community. Volunteers are trained in standard incident management procedures which permit coordination with local agencies to assist with disaster management and recovery efforts. CERT teams around Humboldt County exist to serve their individual areas. Members can learn management, medical, communications, and other skills which can aid themselves, their neighborhoods, and their communities in an emergency.

CERT teams are organized under the NIMS system so that they can be gracefully integrated into disaster recovery efforts, as all police, fire, and other responders' systems in the nation operate the same way.
